I changed the colors of my book jacket and I'm hoping that it doesn't clash so much. It will be hard to tell until I print, but I'm going to head to campus and see how it turns out. I'm having a difficult time really understanding what it will look like when I print.

For instance, this looks bright pink...yet it's almost a deep rose color on my monitor.
To the printer I go!

Just checking

Did anyone happen to write down the steps to making the book?
For some reason, I must've just did the steps in class and not actually retained any of the information.

For instance, what are the measurements for the matte boards? I cut them to 6x8 and my pages seem to be much larger than my cover. Most of the excess paper contains the cut marks for the guillotine, but I don't remember them showing as much during our demo.

Help?

I made a discovery. A gem of a reference for book cover ideas.

Moving things around

I tried a few different things today after critique. The idea of putting Mackintosh's wallpaper pattern on the inside cover intrigued me, so I gave it a try on the title page and table of contents.

They seem a little more appropriate with the book theme than my "refined" version. Not only does the design feel organic, which is similar to the style of our book's featured designers, but it makes it so I don't have a black background - something I'm apparently drawn to. However, this would mean I cannot use this wallpaper theme on my cover page.

I also tried this, but I'm wondering if it will be too repetitive.

Since my bio is on the inside flap of my cover and my citations are all incorporated into my spreads, a blank page was left at the back. I thought it would be a nice touch to have a dedication page in place of the bio page.

Refined Revisions

I'm unsure about the colors on the diagonal stripes. I wanted to keep with the red/pink theme, but I'm not sure if this is quite it.

Anyone else clueless on what to put on the right inside fold?
